History

St. Joseph's Girls' Inter College was established by the Congregation of the Religious of Jesus and Mary, founded by St Claudine Thevenet in Lyons, France. In 1841, on the invitation of Archbishop Borghi OFM Cap, they decided to come to india.

A group of six Sisters left their beloved country, France for India on 26 January 1842. After facing many difficulties and illness, they reached Agra on 11 November 1842.

They established St Patrick's Boarding School and a month later, on 1 January 1843, St Joseph's. In 1932 St Joseph's was recognized as a Junior High School and in 1967 as a High School. In 1979 it received recognition as St Joseph's Intermediate College.
